Each day passes by with new events unfolding and leaving a lasting mark. I was walking back home in the evening. It was the end of work—finally I was getting to relax. Without any thought in mind, I was walking at peace—enjoying the silence and peace and beauty of the surroundings. It was turning dark, the street lights were on. Suddenly I saw a girl and a guy, who were quiet young—in their mid-20s. Understandably, they were friendly. They were around 50 metres from me, around the turn of the road. I, then noticed, that the girl was yelling towards a window of a house, by the same turn of the road. I wondered why! I didn't want to get caught up again in a chain of emotions. I maintained my calm—continuing my peaceful and silent walk, just thinking someone has had a bad day in life! As I approached them, I was taken aback to see her shouting at a lady in the house. This lady had a son around his early 20s. Effectively she was as old as the mother of the two of them. Yet she was yelling horribly. I was wondering whether I should interfere. I took me around a minute for me to fade in and fade out of the whole argument. That one minute was sufficient for me to get to the cause of the whole fight. Apparently the girl always taunted that lady—in return the lady's son apparently "raised his hand" on the girl. Well... in a spurt of a moment, several thoughts came to my mind. Is the girl justified in shouting at the woman, as her son had may be yelled or slapped her? Is the guy justified in slapping the girl to safeguard his mother's dignity—also a woman? Isn't this getting a bit tough? It would have been tougher had I tried to intervene. What I realised though was that—may be years later the girl would herself realise... gosh...what a bad girl have I been! How could I yell like that at a woman my mother's age. Probably the girl and her friend would no longer be together, and the guy would realise—what on earth made me take her side in such a silly argument. May be even the lady's son would realise—I really didn't have to slap the girl. It could have been handled otherwise also.
This was the probability part. What if the whole argument blew out of proportion, so much so, that there is violence? There is no end—it's all in realisation!!! Had they realised that very moment! Several by-standers would not get agitated. If I was not in peace, I would have got rough myself. I could feel all the resentment affecting me myself!
We got to strive towards peace. A couple of milleania ago, there was this man named Jesus, who used to talk a lot about peace. He had the best way to maintain peace—Forgiveness! Believe me... rather Christ—because it really works!!! Forgiveness is the key to peace... His Peace... Christ's Peace... GOD's Peace!
